Libertads

Mexican Gold Libertads & Gold Onzas - Mexico has a long history of producing fine quality Gold coins, and they are known around the world for their beauty. Two of the most commonly collected Gold coins from Mexico are the Gold Onza and the Gold Libertad. The Gold Onzas and Libertads are bullion coins that carry no face value. The absence of a face value prevents the coins from being confused in circulation.
The main difference between these two beautiful coins is that the Onzas, which were produced only in the 1980s, are 0.900 Gold, with a total weight of 34.5 grams. The Libertads, which were produced in 1981 and later, are 0.999-fine Gold and weigh 31.1 grams. When comparing the weight and fineness of each of the two coins, you will find that they both contain the same amount of Gold.
